The Gift of Joy

by

Giorgio Dimichina

We all have dreams and hopes for the future and many of us have a set of emotions tightly wound up in those dreams. Many individuals have taken a chance and stepped out in faith to have their dreams come true with a hope that what they have to offer the world, is worth the risk of failing.
In my 35 years of being a professional artist, I have worked on mastering a set of skills that allows me to create the artwork I desire in order to bring joy into people’s lives. When a person compliments my work, it empowers me, it fills me with joy and encourages me to keep moving forward, whether they purchase a painting from me or not.

You don’t have to be an artist to feel that you need to have validation in your life. Everyone needs it and everyone desires it. Artists of all kinds try to perfect their skills in order to inspire, uplift and emotionally move others.

The ability to transfer feelings of wellbeing to others is not restricted to the arts. We can all accomplish this every time we cheer someone on, support someone or when we take the time to let someone know they are appreciated and valued.

So often, we may hear people speak beautiful words of appreciation over someone who is no longer here, but all of those wonderful sentiments may have never actually been said to the person whiles they were still alive to hear it.

A caring person would never permanently hide a gift he or she intended to give someone so that the person could never feel the joy of it. In much the same way, we should never hide a kind word from someone when the opportunity presents itself.

Too often, we may under estimate the value a kind word may have in someone’s life. One of the greatest gifts we will ever be able to give on this earth is that of being able to instill feelings of joy in others. People may forget the words you speak and they may not recall the things you have done, but people will always remember the way you made them feel.

A kind word is like a sweet scented flower to the soul and health to the spirit.
